Urban Greening and Green Education: Uranus Tulips
This November we returned to the garden of the Romanian Senate to replant Uranus tulip bulbs ahead of the spring. The activity follows up on the 2020 planting within Urban Landscapes Romania PIB project, ensuring the garden will be filled with colourful blooms again next year.
We were joined hands-on by representatives of GroenPact as well as Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences students and teachers for this practical educational experience, which was made more nourishing by the rain.
The Uranus tulip, created especially by JUB Holland, was named in memory of Bucharest’s former Uranus neighborhood, which was demolished to make room for the People’s Palace, a building which today houses the Romanian Parliament.
Many thanks to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bucharest and JUB Holland for their continuous support of our initiative!
